What Marks Are Needed — A Realistic Picture

Most students want to know: how high do you need to score to become a position holder in BISE Faisalabad?

The answer depends on the year, but historical patterns give us a clear range.

Science Group: Top three positions in BISE Faisalabad consistently require 535 to 545 out of 550. That is a 97% to 99% score. The difference between 1st and 3rd position is often just 4 to 6 marks.

Arts Group: Arts group competition is typically less intense in terms of raw marks. Top positions have historically ranged from 505 to 525 out of 550.

One important fact: the 52% pass rate in BISE Faisalabad’s 2025 9th class result shows how wide the performance spread is. The same exam produces students who fail and students who score 545. Position holders represent the absolute top of a very wide range.

How BISE Faisalabad Selects Position Holders

The process is based entirely on total marks out of 550. No subjective criteria, no school preference, no district quotas.

After exam results are compiled, the board’s system identifies the top-scoring students across all affiliated schools in all four districts. Science group and Arts group are ranked independently. Within each group, male and female rankings are listed separately.

This gives BISE Faisalabad a minimum of 12 officially recognised position holders — 3 Science Male, 3 Science Female, 3 Arts Male, 3 Arts Female.

The board holds a ceremony at its Jhang Road headquarters where position holders are invited with their families. The chairman distributes medals, certificates, and cash prizes. Local media covers the event the same evening.
